Our team conceptualized and created a thematic and story for continuity and navigation within the Apex computer base training program utilizing illustration, storytelling and the Articulate Storyline software to deliver an engaging and relevant training experience.
The user tracks their course progress via a visual progress map with achievement levels that correlate to the number of training modules and follow the story.
Our hero is a courageous character possessing traits that have prepared her for the challenge ahead. As a wildlife photographer, she is given to an adventurous spirit and has an insatiable appetite for new and exciting experiences.
On this journey to document and better understand the nature of the famous snow leopard, she experiences an internal transformation and begins establishing personal values and traits that are reflected in the subject of her study. Eventually, she assimilates a hunter's spirit, gaining qualities of cleverness and a strategic mode of thinking.
Our main supporting character is The Storyteller. He is a seasoned guide with experience traversing the Himalaya. He will assist our hero as she begins this incredible undertaking as well as guide the user through the story. He will also make an appearance throughout the training and provide learning aids and tips to the user as they move through the CBT.
Our goal was to use a relevant story that correlated with the nature of APEX to draw the users into the training experience. Our illustrators worked together to create simple yet lively illustrations to bring the story to life and engage the users in a more enriching way.
To break the monotony of training, users were invited to learn more about their mascot (the snow leopard) and the Himalayan environment representative of their field of work. We created logbook entries that followed the story, tracked the user's progress, and implemented fun easter eggs for a broader educational experience.
